Over 100 domesticate pet rats  in 4 separate tubs and 2 separate drops were abandoned at the Tacoma Humane Society on 08/18/11 and 08/23/11. The THS was able to find foster homes for 18 boys that were abandoned at the first drop. They just didn't have the space, knowledge or volunteer power to take care of all these incredible little creatures. These are things BFRR has, the only thing we don't have are the funds to emergency spay the 16 older girls that more than likely were mixed with boys longer than they should have been! Can you help us make sure these 81  ratties don't become 300 ratties?  Please see below if you'd like to use the chip in feature or if you want to just donate through our paypal account, click the Ways To Help link above!

What an exciting day here at Best Friend Rodent Rescue! We saw the arrival of 80 rats from California that were rescued on an episode of Hoarders. Thanks to a marvelous job done by North Star Rescue working together with The Humane Society of the United States and United Animal Nations they rescued close to 2000 pet rats at Glen's home in California. We here at Best Friend Rodent Rescue feel honored and privileged to have been able to help in this process. BFRR is one of the only rescues outside of California to take in any of the rescued rats! Transportation was provided for the ratties by Andy's Pet Store and arranged with North Star Rescue. Joining us on the day of arrival were the camera crew and producer of Hoarders, to film the arrival for a follow up episode of Glen’s story.
